A manager who wants to give his team the highest amount of autonomy should select __. But what if you want your employees to have a lot of direction and guidance? If that is the case, then you should __. These are just two examples of how managers can find their teams’ perfect balance between autonomy and direction! I’m a big fan of the autonomy, but I also know that it’s important to share your thoughts and ideas with team members on what they should be doing. But there is an art form to managing this balance – you’ve got to find ways to give them  while maintaining their sense of ownership in the final product. You can’t just tell employees “do A” or “don’t do B.” They need more freedom than that! And at times, maybe less direction too. The key here is not being able feel like either extreme (too much direction/freedom) will work for everyone out of clear necessity. So how do we find our teams’ perfect balance? You have two options: first, take time
