Exercise is good for you, but all that glitters is not gold, and there are a lot of myths about exercise that people believe. 24 hour fitness seattle is going to break down these myths and provide you with only the truths about exercising. Understandably, many people are reluctant to start a fitness routine. However, there are a number of myths that can be dispelled when considering getting started. Whether it’s the pros of exercising or cons, these are the 7 most common myths about exercising.

1.  There’s no way I can exercise.

You may have been told you suffer from a “gym phobia” or that your lack of exercise is genetic. The truth is that there is no rule saying you can’t go to the gym. You only need to be realistic about what you are capable of doing and set reasonable expectations for yourself.. You don’t have to do it all at once, either.

Start small and work up to the most intense forms of exercise over time – however long that takes! Getting started with exercising will require commitment of time and energy, but in return, it will provide numerous benefits: improved appearance, increased energy levels and a more solid sense of feeling “in shape”. It’s also a proven fact that exercise can help you lose weight.

2.  You need loads of willpower to exercise.

The truth is that you don’t need to have a lot of willpower to exercise; you just need to be honest with yourself about whether or not you want it badly enough. Making the decision is the hardest part, because once you do decide to get exercising, the desire will come naturally and your body will eventually respond better due to the changes it makes inside your head once it gets used to working out on a regular basis.

3.  I could never afford a gym membership or personal trainer.

It can be tough to part with a lot of money just to get started with working out, but the truth is that exercising doesn’t have to cost you a fortune. These days, there are many activities that can be done outside for free. For those who do prefer the gym setting, consider purchasing a few yoga videos or equipment from a home fitness website and start with that.

Remember: working out on your own at home takes time and patience, as well as discipline. There will be days when you feel lazy and don’t want to work out, but you have to push through it! It’s really not as hard as it may seem.

4.  Exercise isn’t for me.

Exercising, like just about anything else, comes with its pros and cons – but, one of the biggest cons people have is that they hate exercising. However, those who start out small and gradually build up toward the most intense forms of exercise over time will be surprised to find out how much they enjoy working out! Once you start to enjoy working out on a regular basis, it will be hard for you to stop.

5. I’ll never look as good as my workout comrades.

The truth is that you don’t have to look like a bodybuilder in order to be healthy. However, in order for you to achieve the same results, it will take more time than if you were working out on a routine of crunches and sit-ups. The key is consistency; if you start small and work up to the most intense forms of exercise over time – however long that takes! It’s easy to think of exercising as something different or separate from your day-to-day life, but when you get started it will become really easy to incorporate.

6.  I don’t have time to exercise.

Most people are pressed for time, but the truth is that you can fit in at least a little bit of exercise each day, even if it’s just 10 minutes of walking. As a matter of fact, even if it’s just a few minutes of walking throughout your day, it will add up and have a huge impact in the long run. It may seem like nothing when you’re doing it on your own in the beginning, but once you get used to working out on a regular basis and start to see the changes taking place outside and inside your body, you’ll notice how much better your entire life starts to feel!

7.  It’s too risky to exercise.

The truth is that it’s not risky at all, unless you don’t take proper precautions. When it comes to exercising and staying active, you have to be smart about what you do. There are a lot of activities that can cause harm, so be sure to keep yourself safe by getting the proper equipment and not taking part in any extreme forms of exercise without the help and guidance of an instructor or professional trainer .
