Bike owners need to follow traffic rules and regulations at all times when on the road. There are various traffic regulations, such as having third-party two-wheeler insurance or cheap bike insurance with third-party cover before getting on the road, following the traffic signals, having a PUC certificate, etc.

Violating any of these rules can invite hefty fines from the authorities. Moreover, once the challan has been issued, individuals need to pay it on time.

Not paying pending challans can invite more penalties and repercussions from traffic authorities. To avoid this, individuals can check bike challans online. In this guide, we will learn how to get challan details online.

 What is Traffic Challan?

Challan is basically a document of a traffic fine issued by a traffic authority for violating traffic rules and regulations. These traffic and safety rules, such as wearing a helmet, third-party bike insurance policy, etc, are for the public welfare and safety.

If an individual violates any of the traffic rules, a challan is issued to them. The paper challan is usually issued by a traffic police inspector. E-Challans are issued electronically via CCTV cameras installed on the traffic signals.

In case of violation, the traffic inspector issues an e-challan against the violator, which is directly sent to their registered mobile number. Violators will have sufficient time to pay the pending challan on time – 60 days.
