The seize control upgrades guide will walk you through upgrading to the latest version of Seize Control. You’ll be able to see how easy it is to upgrade, what you need ready before the upgrade process, and what will happen during and after the upgrade process. We have also provided thorough troubleshooting sections to assist you if you encounter any issues. We highly recommend that you use the latest version of Seize Control.
1. Requirements:
The Seize Control Upgrade Guide assumes you have some level of familiarity with the software, and are familiar with the elements of the software that have changed from version to version. We have covered these changes in our FAQs, but we recommend checking in there just to make sure that you understand everything and know how to perform each step.
2. Performing an upgrade:
In order to perform an upgrade you will need the latest version of Seize Control. This is available from the website.
In order to begin the upgrade process, download Seize Control from the website and unzip the .zip file. Then go through Upgrading -> Upgrade. Follow the instructions given, for example you may need to uninstall and reinstall Seize Control depending on your operating system; or use a different port than what you started with – whatever is appropriate for your environment.
After the upgrade process, you should be able to access Seize Control on the same URL that you were using previously. You will need to login again in order to take full advantage of the new features that have been added, and any settings that have changed will need to be updated.
You should be able to access the Seize Control Administrator page by default. If this is not correct, find the ‘Admin’ tab and make sure you are logged in as the administrator. You need to be logged into Seize Control as an administrator in order to perform any upgrades. In order to see whether or not you are logged in as an administrator, click ‘Log Out’ at the top of the Seize Control window and then click ‘Login’. You should see that you are now logged in as an administrator.
3. Troubleshooting:
We recommend troubleshooting for Seize Control upgrades if you encounter errors or other issues during the upgrade process. We have provided two major sections to assist with this, Before and After the Upgrade Process: Before the upgrade process, you can use our troubleshooting tips to try an get an error message to appear.
In the After upgrade process, we have included a list of common errors and two sections for troubleshooting: troubleshooting for a privilege issue, and troubleshooting for an issue that may prevent the upgrade from succeeding.
4. Concluding:
Finally, your Seize Control Upgrade Guide has been developed with the following in mind: that you are aware of what is going on during the upgrade process, and how to troubleshoot if issues arise. We want to make sure that you are prepared for anything that may come up, and are confident in upgrading your software. We hope you find this guide useful!
